Scientific Operations Director

Description: The CMU-Pitt BRIDGE Center, a collaborative center for neuroimaging research that is jointly operated by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, is seeking a Scientific Operations Director. The Scientific Operations Director oversees operations & educational initiatives of the BRIDGE Center facilitating state of the art neuroimaging research with the highest possible data quality and ensures research at the center is conducted safely and efficiently. The primary responsibility of the Scientific Operations Director is to oversee the daily operation of the BRIDGE Center and support its thriving user community. Duties will include managing safety training and compliance, monitoring data quality and the scheduling of routine scanner maintenance, working with the co-directors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance issues, and supervising other BRIDGE staff to ensure efficient and accurate center scheduling, billing, data management, and documentation systems. Secondary components of the position may include the opportunity to conduct research and to teach through the Neuroscience Institute at CMU. Representative courses of interest include applied classes on working with neuroimaging data and overview classes on general human neuroscience methodologies. The mix of administrative duties, research, and coursework is flexible and will be responsive to the interests of the successful candidate. A doctorate or masters degree involving MRI-related research is required. The cover letter should describe your philosophy on management and best practices for conducting MRI research.
