Scientific Operations Director
Description: The CMU-Pitt BRIDGE Center, a collaborative center for neuroimaging research that is jointly operated by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, is seeking a Scientific Operations Director. The successful candidate will be appointed as a non-tenure stream faculty member with a flexible mix of administrative, teaching, and research effort. The primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily operation of the BRIDGE center and to support its thriving user community. Duties will include managing safety training and compliance, monitoring data quality and the scheduling of routine scanner maintenance, working with the co-directors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance issues, and supervising other BRIDGE staff to ensure efficient and accurate center scheduling, billing, data management, and documentation systems. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as the Scientific Operations Director has the primary role in the onboarding of new users, consulting with users on MRI protocols and parameters, and serving as the point of contact for administrative units and external vendors that interface with BRIDGE. Additionally, the individual within this position will be expected to teach up to three courses per year in areas relevant to the mission of the BRIDGE center (e.g., in the areas of cognitive neuroscience, brain imaging, and imaging methods), and they may choose to pursue collaborative and independent lines of funded research. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, bioengineering, or a related discipline; at least two years of post-doctoral training or its equivalent; and a track-record of neuroimaging research. Administrative or leadership experience is preferred but not required.
Deadline: Candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
